Massive hail storm hits the Calgary Farm

July 15, 2008

Well, as in every farming operation, there are years when Mother Nature is just not on your side. Graham Farms had some bad luck on July 15th – a massive hail storm hit the entire farm and has left nothing standing. We may have some pictures from their place in the next week or so as well.

This kind of weather is part of life when you are farming in Alberta (and North Dakota), so I guess this is our year to experience it. While we are disappointed about our pea crop (which Ben says was growing quite nicely), the Grahams are dealing with much bigger issues – we will keep you posted as we get the latest news.

We will let you know when the adjusters have been and the Grahams have decided on their next steps.
