AdFarm began its North Dakota farm in 2001. The land we farm is 70 acres amidst rolling hills near the small town of Aneta. The rich, black, clay loam soil has produced some great crops as a part of the AdFarm educational experience. Here’s what we’ve grown:
The Farm and the Farmer Our AdFarm North Dakota Farmer Partner is Fred Lukens. He works with the Farm Boss and Farm Coordinator on decisions regarding the AdFarm North Dakota crop selection and other operational considerations. Fred and his wife Jane farm with her father, Oscar Huso, Jr., brother Jim Huso, cousin Don Huso and neighbor Bill Miller. Their farm consists of approximately 5,000 acres and 100 head of registered Polled Hereford cattle. They also grow winter wheat, barley, oats, corn, soybeans, pinto beans, canola, field peas, alfalfa and other hay crops. |
